He was Associate Director of the Institute of Urban Development and Olympic Games. The development for these games were recognized internationally as creating a meaningful legacy in the urban design landscape of Barcelona.

He has taught at a number of schools of architecture, including the Escola Tècnica Superior d’Arquitectura (ETSAB) in Barcleona, was Visiting Professor at the Politecnico de Milano to Piacenza, the UCLA University in Los Angeles, the International Laboratory of Architecture and Urban Design in Venezia, the Academie van Bouwkunst van de HR&O in Rotterdam and the Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture. Since 1994, he has been an Associate Professor of Architectural Design at the School of Architecture of Barcelona.

He is particularly interested in urban questions and the changing conditions of the contemporary European city. More specifically, he has addressed through teaching and practice the complexity of each site that requires the sensitive interpretation of place and space as a critical synthesis of historic layers, existing natural and man-made systems, cultural forces, and the potential for future meaning. The success of the designs resided not only in their ability to address these often conflicting site and program characteristics, but in their creation of a whole larger than the sum of the parts. in this changing context.
