The dog park is part of the Master Plan for the area of Parc de L’Estació del Nord, which is aimed to transform the sector into a new center of a green route that connects the old city with the new Parc de les Glóries. The project emerged from the neighborhood’s request to expand and improve the existing dog area of the park. The main objective is to improve the accessibility, connectivity and visibility of the park. Therefore, it was proposed to have an open access, as well as the elimination of the existing concrete wall surrounding it. Besides that, a critical point of the project was the coherence of different spaces within the park. For this purpose a closure was made with landscaped slopes that dialogue with the organic forms of the park. Special attention is being paid to the lightning in the park, which is being transformed into LED lightning and the use of organic materials for the pavement. Urban elements are made sure to be removable, flowerbeds will cover almost half of the plan area and to stimulate water draining, a porous pavement will be added to the leftover plan area In order to live up to the sustainability criteria of the Barcelona City Council.
