More specifically, he has addressed through teaching and practice the complexity of each site that requires the sensitive interpretation of place and space as a critical synthesis of historic layers, existing natural and man-made systems, cultural forces, and the potential for future meaning. The success of the designs resided not only in their ability to address these often conflicting site and program characteristics, but in their creation of a whole larger than the sum of the parts. in this changing context.
