Carmen Fiol Costa participates in Sidney’s Vivid Festival: Making Places that Matter.

From May the 23rd untill 9 June, Sydney will once again be transformed into a spectacular canvas of light, music and ideas when Vivid Sydney takes over the city after dark. As part of Droga’s Architecture in residence, Carmen Fiol will participate in Vivid Ideas – Places that matter.

Explore some of Australia’s most successful strategies for placemaking and place branding.

Placemaking re-imagines and transforms public spaces, while place branding can capture and communicate the character of a place, and the shared identity of a community. Innovative approaches for promoting place identity can also include; staging major events, cultural programming, thoughtful urban design and public art, community cultural development, and much more.

In this exclusive Vivid Ideas event, civic leaders and creative thinkers from Australia and beyond will share their experiences in building local identity and providing the tools to support flourishing communities.

Essential for government and policy thinkers, urban planners and designers, community workers, public arts curators and artists. *Booking and transaction fees apply
